Motivation is not something that is easy to come by. In fact, for some of us it is absolutely the hardest thing to muster and exhibit. It’s down right tough to get and stay motivated.
But I believe it can be the single most important factor to your success and happiness.
How can you motivate yourself? For a lot of people who have been burned out in school, college, or the workplace, this can be a difficult thing to achieve. However, there are a few tips that you can consider when you feel that you cannot push yourself further or farther.
1. Know what exactly it is you want. What are you motivating yourself to do? Do you merely want to finish a job, or do you want to earn a lot of money? Set tangible, or at least manageable goals for yourself. If you know exactly what you want, you can get it, and you can motivate yourself to get it.
2. Give your work a purpose. The problem with a lot of people is that they work hard but they don’t know what their work is for. Do they want money? Are they simply working toward money? Do you want money, or does your money have a purpose? Give yourself a tangible purpose so that you can know what you are working for. Striving for money is an empty goal; striving for money so that you can get a good house and a nice car might be more tangible; striving for more money so that you can help your siblings go to college, your parents to enjoy their retirement, and your family to have a better house and car might be even better.
3. Take a break. Sometimes, being burned out means that you need to stay away from things for a moment, have some time alone to yourself, and get an outsider’s view of your situation. When you start getting fatigued more often, your body might be telling you to slow down; and slowing down can mean re-energizing yourself by taking a vacation, or even just taking a walk. You may want to set aside some alone time each day for you to recharge, so that you are not constantly being barraged with work.
4. Don’t be afraid to say no when you are offered yet another duty. Sometimes, you can get so much work that you are saturated with stress, and you reach the point where you simply want to give up and not start working. Keep your work to a manageable level. You need to stay sane to keep on working in the long run.
5. Reward yourself for a job well done! Plan out a trip for yourself, or promise to take yourself to the movies if you complete your work. Little rewards, such as snacks and a cup of hot chocolate, can work too.
When I started to write this post I was coming from a place of complete and utter defeat.
I won’t go into specifics but I will say that my Wife and I were dealing with incompetent, underpaid and probably mistreated, angry, unhelpful, degenerate and vindictive civil government (state) employees.
I remember thinking to myself, “ I can’t stand being the ‘little guy’ anymore. You know the guy who waits in line, who gets passed over for promotions, who goes unnoticed in the crowd and the guys that gets told “no” by those with position and authority while some “other guy” gets told “yes”.
It’s scary. It’s a scary thought to feel a lack of security or protection from life’s troubles and troubled.
So…I said that was how I started but I really want to tell you where I am at now.
Fear is probably the single-most thing in our lives that hold us back from success. When you have fear dwindling beneath the surface of our mind, often it encourages doubt. Doubt usually encourages low-self esteem, confidence, which all holds a person back from successfully gaining in life.
These conditions often have debilitating effects on one’s body and mind. Yet, we can use self-talk to remove these doubts and fear. First, you want to define your fear.
Some of us rely heavily on burying their fears rather than confronting them head on. The best way to face your fear is to discover your fear and face it head on. For example, if you are afraid of heights, take an airlift or plane ride and master that fear. Start taking one-step at a time to beat this fear. This is what I did to overcome the fear of heights. At one time, I literally fainted when walking up three steps on a ladder. Yet, determined I set out to master my fear, rather than allow my fear to master me.
How can I spend positive self-talk procedures to assist me with overcoming my fears?
This is an excellent (and very important) question. After all, it doesn’t do you much good to know what the law of attraction is if you do not know how to use it to achieve success in your own life. Once you have mastered the basics of the law of attraction you will be able to apply it to any area in your life.
1) The first step in finding success through the law of attraction is to accept responsibility for the things that have occurred in your life, both good and bad.
I’ve found that one of the key elements to realizing success is the forming of positive habits. It seems that we fail and feel the negative effects often due to habits that we’ve formed over time. We do so many things wrong for so long that it’s automatic. I could make a list but come on, think about it for a second, you can probably find plenty in your own life.
Well the other side of the coin is also true of habits – develop good, positive, ones and you will feel the positive effects!
Focus is the single most important factor that will determine whether your dreams come true or not. Depending on what your dreams are, there are so many rivers to cross. Some hurdles look quite formidable, and a lot of folks give up at the first sign of a setback.
Focus helps you put your act together. It helps you mobilize your resources and channel them in one direction. That way, you make progress consistently in the direction of your goal or milestones.
To fulfil your dreams, you have to break it down into actionable segments, goals. Fulfilling the dream involves achieving the goals that make up the dream. Focus enables you meet your goals.
For some people, waking up early is as natural as breathing. Lucky them. But for many others, waking up early is virtually an impossible thing to do. Luckily for them, using the motivational tips below can give them a better way to start the day.
1. Wake up to the right environment.
Believe it or not but the way your room looks can help or hinder your ability to wake up early. A messy room will generally make you disinclined to wake up early because cleaning your room will just be one of the many worries you have to tackle for the day.
But when you wake up to a clean room, just the sight of it can be energizing and make you jump out of bed. At least youíve got one less worry to think about!
